Events

The Events Committee is responsible for coordinating and/or conducting OA-related events, workshops and retreats to help promote recovery from compulsive eating, bulimia, and anorexia in accordance with the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Overeaters Anonymous. OAsis Committee

The OAsis Committee publishes NJIOA’s quarterly newsletter OAsis. The newsletter contains writings and submissions from OA members, helpful resources such as contact and meeting information, accounts on past events, and notifications of future happenings.  Contact us at oasis@njioa.org.

Public Information / Outreach Committee

The Public Information/Outreach Committee is committed to carrying the message of OA to the general public and health care community. Committee activities include circulating information regarding the OA program via posters and pamphlets, arranging for press releases and public service announcements through local media avenues, and providing an OA booth at health fairs or conventions of health care professionals. The committee also monitors the NJIOA OA information phone line assuring all callers received responses and callers are made to feel welcomed and supported.  Contact us at publicinfo@njioa.org

Twelfth Step Within Committee

The Twelfth Step Within Committee supports the recovery of OA members by sponsoring events focused on aiding members who have a desire to stop eating compulsively or stop compulsive food behaviors.  Contact us at 12stepwithin@njioa.org.

Website Committee

The Website Committee is responsible for the NJIOA website, which provides a centralized venue for OA information pertaining to all groups within our regional area. A current ongoing list of meetings and upcoming events are maintained, as well as newsletters, policies, procedures, archives, recordings, and other resources. Contact us at website@njioa.org

Zoom Committee

The Zoom Committee schedules and facilitates all virtual activities for NJIOA including Intergroup meetings and sponsored online events.  Trainings are offered to help members navigate and better use technology-based programming.  Contact us at zoom@njioa.org
